Is the Bible corrupted?
Quick answer
No. The charge that the Bible was rewritten beyond recovery is not supported by the manuscript evidence, and it creates severe problems for the Quran’s own appeals to the previous Scriptures.
What the evidence shows
The Old and New Testaments are supported by a vast manuscript tradition. Variants exist, as with any ancient text, but they are studied openly and do not erase the core message of creation, covenant, Messiah, cross, and resurrection.
The Quranic problem
If the Bible were already hopelessly corrupt in Muhammad’s day, the Quran’s instructions to confirm its message with the people of the Book become incoherent. Several library articles press that internal tension with careful citation of Quranic passages and classical commentary.
