Is Jesus God?
Quick answer
Yes. The New Testament presents Jesus as Yahweh incarnate: the eternal Son who shares the unique identity, glory, and worship of the one God, while remaining personally distinct from the Father and the Spirit.
What Christians mean
Calling Jesus God does not mean the Father stopped being God, or that Jesus is a second deity beside Yahweh. It means the one God of Israel is tri-personal, and the Son fully shares that divine identity. Passages such as John 1:1–18, John 20:28, Hebrews 1, and Philippians 2 are central to that claim.
Why the objection keeps coming up
Muslims, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and unitarians often point to Jesus praying, dying, being sent, or calling the Father “the only true God.” Those texts matter. The library answers them by distinguishing person and nature, and by reading each text in its full biblical context rather than in isolation.
