Apologia Library & Apologia Debate · Last updated: April 2026
Apologia Library is a digital library of Christian apologetics articles by Sam Shamoun. The Apologia Debate mobile app provides access to this library with search, Bible and Quran verse cross-reference, Quick Counter, Prepare Me, Live Debate, and article-level AI help. This policy covers both the website and mobile app.
We do not require user accounts, registration, names, email addresses, or analytics cookies. Some app features do transmit limited data needed to provide the feature: AI prompts, optional community submissions and votes, generated device identifiers for duplicate prevention, and production error reports.
Articles you read or download are cached on your device using SQLite for offline access. The app also stores local preferences, bookmarks, recent searches, streak data, and chat history on your device so the app can restore your experience between sessions. You can clear downloaded article content at any time by going to Settings → Clear Downloaded Articles in the app.
Clearing downloaded articles does not necessarily clear every local preference or chat entry stored by the app. Removing the app from your device clears normal app-local storage according to your operating system's behavior.
When you use the Ask AI feature, the text of your question is sent to OpenAI's API for processing. OpenAI's privacy policy governs how they handle that data.
We do not store your chat history on our servers. The mobile app may keep recent chat history locally on your device for continuity. Your questions are not used to train any model on our end.
Full-text search queries are processed on our server to return results from the article library. The mobile app may store recent searches locally on your device. Server-side search infrastructure may maintain operational logs, but the app does not require an account identity for search.
If you submit an argument-card suggestion or vote on community content, the app sends that content or vote to our Supabase database with a generated device identifier. This identifier is used for moderation, abuse prevention, and duplicate-vote prevention. Do not include private personal information in community submissions.
Debate practice history and scores may also be associated with the generated device identifier so the app can show your history on that device.
In production builds, the app may send error reports to our API. These reports can include an error message, a shortened stack trace, app version, platform, OS version, timestamp, and recent in-app breadcrumbs used for debugging. Error reporting is disabled in development builds.
The app is suitable for users aged 12 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Because we collect no personal data from anyone, no special handling is required for younger users beyond the content rating applied in app stores.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date at the top. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
