If Muslims are to acknowledge the revelations of the People of the Book, it stands to reason that they are affirming the authenticity of the Bible as it existed then. Furthermore, the logic of mutual acknowledgment is clear; just as Muslims expect recognition of the Quran, Jews and Christians would naturally expect the same for their scriptures. Therefore, the assertion that the Quran does not endorse the Bible's authenticity fails to hold when considering the implications of the command given in the verse.
