The Quran teaches that the followers of Jesus, including Paul, are superior to unbelievers and that their message is the true religion of God.

The Quranic verses in Surah 3:55 and Surah 61:14 suggest that Allah has granted superiority to the followers of Jesus over unbelievers until the Day of Resurrection. This implies that those who truly follow Jesus, including Paul, are the ones who have been empowered by God. However, the teachings of Paul and the early Christians do not align with Islamic doctrine, which raises a critical question: if the Quran is accurate, then the message of Paul must be considered the true message of Christ. Sayyid Qutb's interpretation attempts to reconcile this by claiming that all prophets preach the same religion, which he identifies as Islam. Yet, this presents a contradiction because the historical reality shows that the early Christians, who were not Muslims, prevailed and spread their beliefs. Therefore, if the Quran claims that true believers will dominate, it fails to account for the fact that the prevailing message was distinctly Christian, not Islamic. This leads to the conclusion that either the Quran is incorrect in its assertion about the superiority of Jesus' followers, or it inadvertently supports the validity of Pauline Christianity.
