Allah does not command indecency and rewards those who restrain their lusts, so how can He place lust within us?

The Quran presents a duality in its teachings regarding human desires and divine commands. On one hand, it asserts that Allah rewards those who control their lusts, suggesting that self-restraint is a virtue leading to Paradise (S. 79:40-41). On the other hand, it claims that Allah has inspired both lewdness and godfearing within every soul (S. 91:8), which implies that humans are inherently predisposed to sin. This raises a significant theological dilemma: if Allah has predetermined these inclinations, how can He justly hold individuals accountable for their actions? Furthermore, the Quran explicitly states that Allah does not command indecency (S. 7:28), yet the existence of lust within the human soul complicates the notion of moral responsibility. The teachings of Muhammad further emphasize that human actions are decreed by destiny, leading to questions about divine justice and the nature of free will. If individuals are punished for actions that are preordained, it challenges the concept of a just and fair God, as it suggests that people are being judged for what they could not control.
