Muslims often challenge Christians to find direct quotes from Jesus where he claims to be God or instructs people to worship him. However, this demand is based on a misunderstanding of how claims of divinity can be established. The New Testament, written by those who witnessed Jesus' life, contains numerous affirmations of his divine nature, even if they are not direct quotes from Jesus himself. In contrast, the Quran does not provide any statements from Jesus denying his divinity, which raises questions about the Quran's stance on this matter. To further illustrate this point, Christians can challenge Muslims to produce statements from the Quran where Jesus explicitly denies being God, the Son of God, or his mission to die for humanity's sins. The absence of such statements in Jesus' own words, as recorded in the Quran, suggests that the Quran does not refute the claims of Jesus' divinity. Additionally, any claims made in the Quran regarding Jesus' nature are not attributed to Jesus himself but are rather the opinions of the Quran's author. Moreover, the challenge extends to the language in which Jesus spoke. The expectation is that any statements attributed to Jesus must be in Aramaic, his native tongue, rather than in Arabic. This further complicates the Muslim argument, as the Quran does not present Jesus' words in the original language he spoke. Thus, the inconsistency in Muslim arguments highlights the strength of the Christian position that Jesus is indeed the Divine Son of God, as affirmed by the New Testament.
