For instance, in Matthew 28:18, Jesus claims that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Him, affirming His divine status. The early church recognized this and worshiped Jesus as God, as seen in passages like Philippians 2:9-11, which states that every knee should bow to Jesus. Additionally, the concept of shirk in Islam is understood as attributing partners to God, but Christians do not view Jesus as a separate entity from God. Instead, they see Him as the incarnate Word of God, fully participating in the divine nature. Therefore, worshiping Jesus is an expression of worshiping the one true God who has revealed Himself in Jesus Christ, not a violation of monotheism.
