The term 'al-mutakabbir' suggests that Allah possesses a pride that is above human comprehension, often interpreted as haughtiness. However, in Christian theology, pride is considered a vice that leads to sin, as seen in Proverbs 16:18, 'Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.' This raises a critical question: if pride is inherently negative, how can it be attributed to a perfect being? Furthermore, the Quran states that humans and jinn were created to worship Allah, which some interpret as a need for validation or praise. In contrast, Christian doctrine emphasizes that God desires a relationship with humanity based on love and grace, not out of a need for affirmation. This distinction highlights a fundamental difference in understanding God's nature between Islam and Christianity. Moreover, the Bible teaches that God's greatness is displayed through His humility and service to others, as exemplified in Philippians 2:6-7, where Christ, though in the form of God, took on the nature of a servant. This contrasts with the notion of a proud deity who demands worship for His ego. Thus, the Christian view of God is one that invites worship out of love rather than obligation, fundamentally differing from the Islamic perspective of Allah's pride.
