God has many sons, such as angels and Israel, so why do Christians assume that Jesus is God's Son in a unique divine sense?

The Bible teaches that God has many sons, including angels, the nation of Israel, and even believers. However, these references do not imply that Jesus is God's Son in the same way. Angels are spiritual beings created by God, and while they are called sons, they do not share the same divine essence as God. In contrast, Jesus is described as the Word made flesh, embodying the fullness of God. Moreover, the nation of Israel is referred to as God's son because they were chosen to represent Him and reflect His glory among the nations. This relationship is one of covenant and purpose, not of divine nature. Jesus, however, is uniquely positioned as the Son of God, fully divine and fully human, which sets Him apart from all other beings referred to as sons. Additionally, the term 'son of God' in relation to Jesus signifies a unique and eternal relationship with the Father, affirming His divinity. This is supported by scripture that emphasizes His pre-existence and divine authority, such as John 1:1, which states that 'In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.' Thus, while others may be called sons of God in a metaphorical sense, Jesus holds a distinct and unparalleled position as the Son of God.
