If Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth, then the Father has no authority left.

The Father did not cease having authority when He handed it over to the Son; instead, He exercises all authority through the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. By granting the Son complete authority over all things, the Father did not subject Himself to His Son nor relinquish His own sovereignty. Jesus' authority means that He shares fully in His Father's perfect rule over the entire creation. The Apostle Paul clarifies this in 1 Corinthians 15:24-28, where he notes that Christ will eventually hand the kingdom over to God the Father after destroying all opposing powers. This indicates that while God currently allows the existence of opposing authorities, His ultimate reign will be established. Furthermore, Paul emphasizes that God placed everything under Jesus' feet, except for Himself, which aligns with Old Testament passages that highlight God's sovereignty and the exaltation of Christ, such as Psalm 110:1 and Ephesians 1:19-23. Therefore, the authority of Jesus does not negate the Father's authority but rather complements it within the divine order.
