Additionally, the New Testament reinforces this belief, as seen in Matthew 1:1, which explicitly states that Jesus is the son of David. The life and ministry of Jesus, including his triumphal entry into Jerusalem, fulfill the prophetic imagery of the coming king. His resurrection is viewed as the ultimate confirmation of his kingship and messianic identity, establishing his reign over both Israel and the world. Therefore, the Christian understanding of Jesus as the Messiah is deeply rooted in the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies. While Muslims may reject this interpretation, the continuity of the biblical narrative supports the claim that Jesus is indeed the awaited king, fulfilling the role of the Messiah as outlined in the Hebrew Scriptures.
